The Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS) is a self-administered, eight-question survey that measures a person’s general level of daytime sleepiness. Your provider asks that you complete the ESS to measure your symptoms, inform your diagnosis, or see how your treatment is progressing. There are no wrong answers.
